The
first year of this degree course is held in Conegliano at the
Istituto Cerletti, for the second and third years in Vittorio
Veneto at the Dante College. The conferring of degrees takes place
in both Vittorio Veneto and Conegliano. The fact that courses
are held in different locations does not take from the preparation
for the degree courses as they all come under the same territory
of the University of Padova. This degree course prepares students
for careers in the furniture and home furnishings industry, one
of the leading industries in the Veneto economy.
Course Objectives
The
degree course gives students an excellent overall knowledge of
wood material and trains them in production technology, marketing
and sales of furniture, home furnishings and the building industry
in general.
Training
Given
The
aim of the course is to give the student a thorough knowledge
of wood as a raw material and the applied technology used
in the industry. The course features two types of training,
the first is a concentration on those subjects indispensable
to obtain a sufficient scientific training, the second area
of study concentrates on the application of technology in
the different sectors within the industry.

Studies
include timber production techniques, the chemical, physical and
technological make up of wood as a material and its derivitives.
Students study, wood processing systems, how to organise production
and quality management , as well as the sales and marketing of
wood products and their derivitives to the finally to economic
management complete the training.
Students study English, and computers as well as periods of work
experience and apprenticeship programs in both private and state
companies.

- quality control technician of material and of production
systems;
- technician specialised in organising production;
- sales agent for the wood and furniture industry;
- sales agent for wood and furniture merchandise.
